Future of Business with Ethical AI at RMIT

Jason was invited to join the panel at RMIT, with over 700 attendees coming to hear about the Future of Business with Ethical AI, with Dee Templeton as keynote speaker.

This event was filled with insights, bringing together industry leaders and enthusiasts to discuss the transformative potential of AI in business and the critical need for ethical practices.

The evening was marked by discussions from an impressive lineup of panelists, including Finbar OHanlon, Sally Woellner, Dheeren Vélu, Brandon Hutcheson, and Beth Worrall from the National AI Centre. Each speaker provided thought-provoking perspectives on AI's role in enhancing creativity and addressing biases, with a strong emphasis on accountability in AI usage.

Dee (Deannah) Templeton from Microsoft, in her fireside chat with Konrad Peszynski, shared invaluable insights on the partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft. She emphasized the importance of reskilling to work alongside AI and famously remarked that "1 minute in the AI world is equivalent to 1 year in the normal world," underscoring the urgency of keeping up with AI advancements.

A special mention to the incredible RMIT BSA team - Max Templeton, Sam Kendall, Pauline Papa, Lachlan Ramsey, Tanya Ajit, Lily Plummer, and Manav Wadhwa—for organizing such a stellar event with over 700 registrations. Their meticulous planning and execution made the night truly memorable.

The event not only provided a platform for networking but also reinforced the importance of students and younger generations in the AI discourse. Their fresh perspectives and probing questions are crucial as we navigate the future of AI and its integration into various business practices.

Reflecting on the discussions and connections made, I left the event feeling more optimistic and energized about the future of AI in the business world. The knowledge and inspiration gained will undoubtedly shape our approach to ethical AI.

In conclusion, my heartfelt thanks to the RMIT Business Student Association for orchestrating such a remarkable event. It was an honor to speak alongside some of the best minds in AI and technology, and I look forward to more such enriching experiences in the future.
