Dazed & Diffused vol. 6

The latest iteration of the Dazed & Diffused Gen AI series, co-hosted and sponsored by Time Under Tension, is becoming a fixture in the Australian generative AI landscape. Last night’s event, our 6th edition, was not just a testament to the growing interest in this field, but also a celebration of community, talent, and groundbreaking ideas.

We were thrilled to see an incredible turnout of over 100 people, with enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds converging to witness and participate. The demos showcased were fantastic, offering a glimpse into the practical and innovative applications of generative AI.

The evening featured insightful presentations by some of the brightest minds in the industry. Mitchell Sigley from Vet Notes, Ben Sainsbury, and Joshua Kim from Collagis, along with Kevin Zhu from Continuous.so, demonstrated their cutting-edge applications of AI, leaving the audience both inspired and informed.

Adding to the uniqueness of the evening was the “one-minute lightning round” with concise talks by Annie Liao, Ross Dawson, Tim Morris, and Adam Ginsburg. These quickfire sessions provided a unique platform for thought leaders to share their perspectives, igniting many lively discussions.

Our events are as much about community as they are about technology. Last night, we witnessed the multifaceted talents within our community. Matt Browne, our now resident beatboxer, energised the crowd with his enthusiastic performance, and an impromptu breakdancing session added an unforgettable flavour to the evening.

As we reflect on the success of the event, we eagerly look forward to the next Dazed & Diffused meetup. It’s an exciting time for generative AI, and we can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for this vibrant community.
